Juniper Red
Crisp dry red with subtle hint of gin aroma
Yield: 5 Gallons Original Gravity: 1.040
IBU: NA Final Gravity: 1.010
Color:     ABV: 4%

Instructions:
If using dried juniper berries, steep 3/4oz in 1/2 cup warm water to make juniper tea. As an extra option, split them in two to gain better flavor and aroma extraction.
Set aside until end of boil.

Steep Grains and 1/4 oz juniper berries 50 min. @ 150F

Drain Grain Bag & remove

Dissolve Malt Extract

Add 1 oz Northern Hops and bring to boil

Add rehydrated juniper berry tea @ 26 mins

Add 1/2 oz Northern Brewer hops @ 28 minutes

Remove from heat after 30 minute boil and cool

Add yeast @ 72 F

Sterilize a fine mesh bag beforehand by boiling in water for 5 minutes then filter beer though sterile bag upon transfer to secondary fermenter or bottling bucket to capture juniper berries.
