FAQ:
Q. First things first, what are classes?
A. Our classes are a one time, straight to video learning tool. You are not required to field questions or take comments from our members. However, the forum is a great place to talk with members who have purchased your class and get feedback. |
Q. How do I make a class?
A. As mentioned before, you need a video camera. Any video camera will do, however, we strongly discourage using camera phones or still cameras with video capability. The sound and picture quality on these devices are quite poor.
Once you have read our requirements and contacted us about your idea, you will need to film and edit your class. Chances are you already have video editing software. Windows users can use Windows Movie Maker and Mac users can edit with iMovie. There are many tutorials on the Internet concerning editing with these programs.
Q. I've filmed and edited the class, what now?
A. Once you are happy with the composition of your class, you need to render it in one of the formats listed in the technical infomation block above. If you don't have access to the original video files and the video is not in the proper format, you can easily convert the video with a third party program.
After the video is rendered, contact us and we will let you know how to submit your video file.
Q. How do I convert my video to one of the accepted formats?
A. Most video editing programs allow you to render your video in a wide range of formats. Below are a few links that should help you convert the video.
Videora iPod Converter [free program]

Q. Why do I have to create a free class first?
A. As stated above, it creates an interest in the paid classes and gives our members a free look at your teaching style. You are required to create one free class and the remaining may be paid classes, even if the paid classes are in a different topic. Likewise, you can create more than one free class, after the first, its up to you. |
Q. Can I play music in my class?
A. No. We do not allow adding music to a class due to licensing of copyrighted material. Once published, we retain the rights to the class and all of its content. |
Q. Why do paid classes need to be between 10 and 20 min?
A. We require this for a couple of reasons. 1. This keeps the file sizes low, 2. Less than 10 minutes and you most likely have missed something or not explained it in depth, 3. More than 20 minutes may require an additional class, breaking up the basic and advanced material. |
Q. How long will it take me to make a class?
A. As long as you need to meet the class requirements. We don't require any hollywood'esk effects or fancy cut aways, but if you want to add them and they improve the learning experience, have at it. The amount of time and effort you put in is entirely up to you, however, the quality of the class will determine your publishability. |
Q. How is the price of each class set?
A. We determine the price based on several factors: 1. class length, 2. class uniqueness, 3. teacher credentials, and 4. the demand for the class. The price will be set somewhere between $3 and $10 per purchase. |
Q. How do I get paid for my classes?
A. We use PayPal for all online payments. PayPal is safe and secure. All you need is an email address to send and receive payments through PayPal. |
Q. When will I get paid for my classes?
A. The short answer is when someone purchases your class. The long answer is once a month as long as one of your classes were purchased and you have a balance over $20 US. We pay on the 1st of each month. If your balance is not over the required amount on the pay out date, we will wait until the next pay out date in the following month. |
Q. What does Brewium do with the class once I submit it?
A. We review the class for content and to make sure it meets our technical specifications. Once we are confident it is ready for our members, we add an intro clip identifying the class and publish it. |
Q. I'm ready to teach, what now?
A. Contact us with your class idea and any information that might help us better understand your credentials. While not required, it helps to have a website, book, dvd or podcast that we can review. |
